Prof. Tilmann Kohlhaase

Short profile

Since 2004 Professor for "Animation and Game-Production" at the Department of Media at the University of Darmstadt.

 

Lectures and conducts international workshops in the field of 3D computer animation.

His work covers the genres of feature film, documentary, stop-motion, 2D animation, 3D computer animation, games and virtual effects.

The majority of his films and works are aimed at children and are a combination of animation and live action. The projects are created in cooperation with television stations and are presented at numerous festivals in Germany and abroad.

    Organisation of events:

    Since 2012, the Global Game Jam has been held annually in cooperation with the Hessian Film and Media Academy (hFMA).
