European Alliance to strengthen interdisciplinary research

In the BMBF-funded project "Trend Analytics for Society", Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is networking stakeholders from science, politics and business to identify the
economic and social consequences of events, decisions and trends at an early stage and to show stakeholders options for action from different perspectives.

With currently seventeen partners from ten European countries (https://vis.h-da.de/network.html) , the aim is to identify early trends in the areas of politics, business,
education and research with technological and methodological innovations and to develop them into adequate solutions to the identified challenges. The interdisciplinary European
network relies on the expertise of the partners involved, who are internationally renowned in their respective fields.

From a technological perspective, methods of digitalisation, artificial intelligence, visual
analytics, data analytics and simulation are to be optimised and used for various application scenarios. The actors in the respective fields define the challenges themselves, whereby
data-driven trends are also recognised. The validation of the results is also done by the actors of the respective fields. Therefore, a network of interdisciplinary partners was created that can also qualitatively define and assess those challenges and solutions.

With this initiative, Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences is pursuing a sustainable
trans-European research network with the aim of strengthening European research in the field of early detection of political, social, technological and economic developments.
